Llanmoor Homes help football team kick off the new season
Bridgend-based junior football team, Tondu United U7s have styled out the latest season in a brand-new kit thanks to sponsorship from local housebuilder, Llanmoor Homes.
Llanmoor Homes provided funds for the team to source the new blue training and black and white match day kits for all players in the U7s team, which will feature the Llanmoor Homes logo for two years.
Speaking about the sponsorship, Tondu United FC Founder, Director and Club Secretary, Joe Powton, commented: “The sponsorship from Llanmoor Homes means a great deal to the club. It’s allowed us to invest in some new kit, which the lads are absolutely over the moon with.
“The sponsorship money from Llanmoor Homes has made a real difference. The new kit means that the boys are able to feel as though they are truly part of a team and a community, regardless of their financial or social background. These kids will live in this kit on and off the pitch, it’s something that will be so special to them, especially for those who would not normally be able to afford a uniform like this.”
Tondu United FC is an inclusive community club, welcoming players of all abilities who want to play and most importantly, enjoy football. The club is made up of 18 teams, with over 350 members. Its members range from as young as 3-years-old and go up as far as 84-years-old.
The club is currently in search of a hub that the Tondu United FC can call their own in the Tondu area. Once the club finds its base, it will be able to expand from its current 350 members into the thousands. With 82 children on the waiting list already, Tondu United is desperate to find a site to expand the club as soon as possible.
The club’s vision offers more than just football opportunities for the community, but a model which sees multi-sports, education and employability all brought together under one roof.
Tim Grey, Sales Director of Llanmoor Homes, said: “We are very much looking forward to building high-quality, new open market and Affordable housing at Tondu again following completion of our previous popular development.
“As an aside from the numerous benefits and improvements to the area directly associated with the development, we are delighted to be able to offer support to Tondu United FC . The continued growth of the club will enable a greater number of the local community and in particular the younger members to participate in team sports and to enjoy significant health benefits from doing so.”
Llanmoor Homes’ Parc Tondu development, situated near the popular village of Aberkenfig, will offer a range of two, three, and four-bedroom open market sale homes that offer buyers a fantastic mix of village living with great access into Bridgend town centre.
