Family ties at Llanmoor Homes

Like father, like son as Welsh housebuilder Llanmoor Homes have employed five young men who have followed in their father’s footsteps by working for the same company.

Sam Jones 26, Joseph Jones 23, Dale Painter 21, William Painter 19 and Chris Grey 23 all joined the housebuilding industry after being inspired by their fathers, Phil Jones, Mark Painter and Simon Grey who are all established members of the Llanmoor team.

Sam Jones followed his father Phil’s lead and joined Llanmoor as a Trainee Manager, whilst brothers Dale and William Painter work on Llanmoor sites as Bricklayer and Plumber respectively and Joseph Jones works for a local electrical contractor employed by Llanmoor.

Sam said, “I really enjoy working at Llanmoor as there is a positive and friendly working culture here. Everyone works as a team, from the Bricklayers on site to the Directors, as we all want the company to succeed and continue to grow.”

Sam’s father Phil, Project Manager at Llanmoor said, “I was delighted when Sam joined the Llanmoor team and I think it’s a great testimony to the company that Chris, Dale, William and Sam have all chosen to work for the same company as their parents.”

Chris Grey now works alongside his father Simon, and uncles Tim and Matthew at the company. Since joining Llanmoor as a telehandler driver back in 2010, Chris has held a number of roles and is now based at Llanmoor’s Head Office in Talbot Green as a Quantity Surveyor.

Chris said, “Llanmoor is a great company to work for as it is like one big extended family. Llanmoor care far more about customer satisfaction and quality than many of our competitors and we would never hand over a home that I or any of my family would not be happy to live in ourselves. In fact, I have actually now bought one of the properties myself!”

Llanmoor Homes are currently building at 7 developments across South Wales. The housebuilder recently celebrated their most successful sales period for 7 years, achieving a £20 million turnover for 2014. Due to both an improvement in the economy as a whole, rising consumer confidence and the Help to Buy Wales scheme , 2015 is on target to be a record breaking year for Llanmoor.

Tim Grey, Sales Director at Llanmoor Homes said, “We are first and foremost a family business and therefore we were delighted to have had the opportunity to hire these young men in their different roles at Llanmoor.

“Although it is not a career path commonly considered, the housebuilding industry has many great opportunities for young people. With the recent improvement to the housing market, this is a great time to work in the industry and there are now many job opportunities which young people could be taking advantage of.”
