Colleagues at Llanmoor stand together against cancer

Every two minutes someone in the UK receives a cancer diagnosis, with the disease effecting one in two people.  The Llanmoor Homes team decided it was time to take a stand.

Lindsay Windle Sales Manager at Llanmoor, based in Talbot Green, sadly lost her Husband David to pancreatic cancer on the 19th of February this year following a short battle with the disease. The sad loss of a husband and friend left a lasting effect on the entire team.

Llanmoor, being a family run business, decided that they had to do something to contribute to such an important cause.

A team of six took the plunge and started fundraising for their Race for Life. In total £670 was raised in memory of David and other family members and friends effected by Cancer. The team set off from North Road in Cathays, Cardiff, and began their 10k challenge. All involved took the opportunity to support each other and raise awareness. David’s wife, Lindsay reflects on her motivation to contribute to the fight against cancer;

“When David was Diagnosed with Pancreatic Cancer on the 17th of January and passed away on the 19th of February, after putting up a brave fight, I was devastated and still am.

“I miss him every day. I did the Race for Life to be able to focus on something that was really important. I am so pleased that I have been able to do something to support Cancer Research and hopefully one day, with the continued effort to raise money, we will eradicate this terrible disease.”

Lorna Jones at Llanmoor added, “I am so proud to be a part of the Llanmoor team, this disease has affected us all in some way. The loss of David this year sent sadness throughout the whole company and to see everybody come together in his memory was something truly special. Hopefully efforts like ours will contribute to one day a cure being found.”
