Buying a new build that’s still being built? First-time buyer details their journey to home ownership
16-Jan-2023

First-time buyer Jessica Nixon and her partner are now the proud owners of a brand new Llanmoor Home on the Parc Tondu development in Bridgend.
She first started her property ownership journey while the development was still under construction. We talked to her to find out more about what fuelled the move and her experiences as a buyer and a Llanmoor homeowner.
What made her buy a Llanmoor home?
Ultimately, it was the quality of Llanmoor Homes new builds that convinced Jessica to make the leap, teamed with the good things she’d heard about us from people she trusted:
“We decided to buy a Llanmoor home after hearing positive reviews about the build on the properties from family friends and friends,” says Jessica. “We had a look at the website to find that there was lots of detailed information about the process of buying and decided to ring to secure our first home with Llanmoor in March 2022!”
What type of Llanmoor home did Jessica buy?
Jessica and her partner chose the Ogmore model, a 3-bedroom semi-detached featuring 2 double bedrooms and 1 single. Key features include a family bathroom, energy efficient heating system, French doors to a rear garden and a spacious living room.
“With it being our first home, we felt it was the perfect size,” says Jessica. The couple knew they wanted their home to have a cosy living room and a kitchen diner, so the space ticked all the right boxes! “We’re over the moon with our choice, and have settled in really well.”
What made Parc Tondo the right location for her first home?
Parc Tondu’s urban expansion features 405 two, three and four bedroom homes, surrounded by lush greenery and countryside close to local jobs and transport links in South Wales.
“Parc Tondu was local to our families, we knew that it had good links to the M4, shopping centres, and was an ideal location. We loved the idea that the houses were all of different render colours and styles and that there was a variety of house styles among each other,” says Jessica.
How was the experience of buying a Llanmoor home?
Jessica praises the whole Llanmoor Homes team for their help during the process, including a key team member who made all the difference in the smooth sailing of the purchase – Lily Wakeford, a Sales Advisor at Llanmoor Homes’ Parc Tondu development.
“Upon reservation, there was nothing but a mud patch so we didn’t have much to go on,” says Jessica. “Lily was extremely informative and discussed the look of the development and what Llanmoor’s vision was. We were really pleased.”
The Llanmoor Homes team helped her understand exactly what she was buying and how the development – and the property – would look when completed. They have also been on hand to offer superb aftercare.
“Lily has been exceptional with keeping us informed. The progress photos were a really special touch and were greatly appreciated,” adds Jessica. “Since moving into our home, customer care has been really keen to fix all the little snags that we have had. These have been really minimal, and were sorted within the first week or so of moving in.”
