A record start to 2014 for Llanmoor Homes

A record start to 2014 for Llanmoor Homes

Llanmoor Homes has recorded the best start of the year for sales for over 5 years.

The family run house builders have announced that reservations taken during the first two months of 2014 are double that of last year. This rounds off a successful year for the company who saw a 40% increase in completed sales during 2013/14, compared to the previous year.

While Llanmoor Homes’ Sales Director, Tim Grey, recognises the importance of the introduction of the Help to Buy Wales shared equity scheme on January 2nd in contributing to these sales figures, he explains that he has also noticed movement in the housing market as a whole.

Tim says, ‘Around half the reservations we have taken so far in 2014 have been through Help to Buy Wales. While this is certainly a significant amount, we’d been experiencing an upturn in trading anyway. There has definitely been an increase in confidence in the property market over the past 6 months and we have seen that confidence translate into an improvement in sales.’

Llanmoor Homes has reacted to the recent upturn in the housing market by launching a number of new ventures in 2014. The company has already launched a new development of 93 homes in Coity, Bridgend, which will soon be followed by their first ever development in Newport; Bethesda Field at Rogerstone, a development of just 22 detached homes.

A total of 17 new members of staff have been employed by Llanmoor to help the drive in construction needed to respond to the increased demand for housing, including 2 site managers, 2 engineers and 13 ground workers.

Tim says, ‘The figures we have achieved in the first months of this year have been very encouraging and we have responded accordingly. We have started to move forward massively with construction and both new and existing developments, and we are investing significantly in the future by taking on a larger workforce and buying new machinery and vehicles.

‘I am confident that 2014 will continue to be a strong year for the housing market in Wales and for Llanmoor Homes as we extend our remit to Newport for the first time. As well as beginning work Bethesda Field during the spring, we will also be commencing building alongside national house builders Redrow for the first time at their successful Mon Bank development over the next year.’

‘As house builders, we make vital contributions to the local communities in which we build in terms of education, road improvements, amenity areas and affordable housing, amongst other things.  As a result of these and the increased construction of new homes, the upturn in the market will have a far reaching positive impact on many people and related industries.  It is therefore vitally important that the confidence in the market is maintained by investing and planning for the future, which is what we’re doing at Llanmoor.’
