12 things to do over the Easter holidays
Need ideas on what to do with the kids over the holidays? From jumping around on trampolines to exploring the wild outdoors, we’ve rounded up 12 brilliant activities to do near our Llanmoor developments.
Explore Cardiff Castle
There’s a lot going on at Cardiff Castle during the Easter holidays including egg and spoon races, an Easter trail and the ‘Warwick warriors’ in residence, who are ready to entertain and enthral the crows with their dramatic fight sequences.
A rainy day isn’t an unusual occurrence in Wales, so with bowling alleys in Newport, Cardiff and Merthyr, Superbowl is a brilliant idea if you’re looking for a fun indoor activity with the kids.
Bryngarw Country Park
Bryngarw Country Park offers over 113 acres of diverse parkland with everything from native woodlands to formal gardens. With craft activities and easter egg hunts taking place Saturday 15th and Sunday 16th April, it’s a must!
Wiggleys Fun Farm
If your kids are a fan of animals Wiggleys Fun Farm is definitely one to pop on the to-do-list. Situated in Bridgend, the park has large indoor and outdoor adventure play areas, a Babies Barnyard, Mini Racetrack and, of course, farm animals and a Pets Corner!
Rhondda Heritage Park
For a learning experience why not take your kids to Rhonnda Heritage Park’s ‘Black Gold Experience’? Following in the footsteps of the miners who once worked at the Lewis Merthyr Colliery, the tour will immerse your children into a world back in time.
Watch a film at the cinema
Perhaps an obvious suggestion but who doesn’t like the cinema, right? With a range of kids films currently screening, it’ll be a tossup between ‘The Boss Baby’ and ‘Monster Trucks’.
Jolly Jesters playcentre
Jolly Jesters in Pontyclun is the ideal family friendly environment for your kids to let off some steam. Suitable for years 0-10, the venue offers a variety of fun activities and useless classes each week, and when you’re feeling peckish there’s an onsite cafe too!
Jump around at a Trampoline Park
For those wanting to reach new heights, Go Air Trampoline Park in Llanishen and Limitless Trampoline Park in Cwbran have rows of trampolines and giant foam pits. Whether you’re looking to burn a few calories or to just jump around for fun, this place is a must go to.
Bridgend Recreation Centre
Bridgend Recreation Centre has a lot to offer – from swimming pools with wave machines to indoor climbing walls and trampolines, the centre offers a range of facilities which will keep you and the kids occupied for hours.
Hop on the water bus to Penarth
Pop to Penarth for a day out and explore what the small town has to offer, including some amazing views off the pier. The water buses run regularly from Bute Park and Cardiff Bay, or if it’s a particularly sunny day you could walk the barrage (there are even go karts to whizz around on the way).
Ride rapids at Cardiff International White Water Centre
Whilst at the Bay why not try see if you can handle the waves? Cardiff’s International White Water Centre has lots of half-term activities for kids including family rafting, body boarding, and if you’re not a fan of the water… try out the air trail!
Enjoy family fun together, or some time to yourself while the kids have lots of fun making new friends, getting messy with arts and crafts and chilling out at Celtic Manor’s very own Kids’ Clubs.
