Llanharry (Welsh: Llanhari) is a small village in the county borough of Rhondda Cynon Taf, Wales. Historically the area has been linked with iron mining as far back as the Roman period and Elizabethan era. Now with heavy industry and mining a thing of the past, it’s location close to the M4 has made it a popular place for commuters to look for property.
With a number of small local retailers including Londis, SPAR, a newsagent, hairdressers etc, Llanharry is home to Llanharry Primary School, and Ysgol Gyfun Llanhari, a Welsh medium secondary school. At the centre of the village is Saint Illtud's Church, built in 1867. There are presently two public houses in Llanharry; The Bear Inn and the Fox & Hounds, the village also boasts its own working men's club. |
